Coaches Ali, Alexander, Clarissa, and Alex did an outstanding job making each class of the summer Jiu-Jitsu program for kids both fun and engaging. The coaches had a fantastic way of redirecting the kids and capturing their attention while teaching important techniques using child-friendly terms. The "dinosaur roar" was a particular favorite among the group,
Each coach was incredibly patient, motivating, and provided positive praise that kept the kids enthusiastic and involved. They made sure to acknowledge every student, giving each one a chance to participate in all activities, from greetings and warm-ups to techniques and the Big 10s.
Overall, the summer program was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-rounded and supportive environment for their kids to learn Jiu-Jitsu.
The workouts are awesome, and the atmosphere is super positive and welcoming. Highly recommended. If you're trying to lose weight, pick up self-defense skills, or just learn something new, definitely try this place out.
Family Tree has made it very easy to star learning BJJ. From their friendly coaches and staff to the great group of students they have gathered so far. Everything has been perfect for anyone at any age to start their BJJ journey with. I’m looking forward to continuing getting better at the material art with the awesome coaches there: Alex, Jesse and Ali.
My daughters have been attending family tree and we have seen a huge change in their confidence. Since attending they are less fearful and more willing to participate in physical activities with friends. I love that the classes aren’t extremely big so each kid gets attention from the coaches, not to mention coach Clarissa is so great about addressing each child by name. This is a great place for learning and is so inclusive!
Being apart of the Family Tree team has been such a rewarding experience. The team and coaches are always welcoming, friendly and empowering for myself and my nieces in nephews in the kids class. This academy has given us the opportunity to grow and learn together. Thank you coach Alex, Jesse & Ali!
We take our toddler to kids class every Monday and Wednesday and he absolutely loves it here. We wanted something to help our young one expend some energy and socialize and hopefully do some learning and these classes have exceeded our expectations. Really great for helping listening, instruction, exercise, and it is truly just a great experience and wonderful environment. Affordable, safe, helpful, patient, unique, knowledgeable, and honestly, just not enough positive words to describe the place. We highly recommended for what we have seen for child and for the discipline/routines we have observed for the older kids and adults in-and-out of the place.
I've trained at this gym for a couple years now. From the first day, the atmosphere was very welcoming, respectful and helped me grow in my skills. I walked in not even knowing what jiu jitsu was and instantly fell in love with it. The instructors are great and help breakdown techniques for any skill level to understand. They are more than happy to explain and demonstrate as many times needed. The vibe of the gym is genuinely focused on helping each other build our skills. As a woman I have always felt comfortable in the co-ed classes for the jiu jitsu and for the kickboxing. But if that isn’t your thing what sets this gym apart is the women’s only class. It’s a good opportunity for someone who feels more comfortable in that type of environment. The mats are always clean and the vibe is positive and motivating. Whether you're brand new or looking to compete, this gym is an excellent place to train and grow. It’s a great workout and you always leave feeling good. Highly recommended!
Definitely grateful for Ali for taking the lead with the women's jiu jitsu/self defense class! I've always wanted to the learn this sport but could not find a gym that suited my schedule and be tailored for women. I'm not particularly ready to be training with men just yet. This class fit perfectly for me. It's empowering, beginner-friendly, and the women are so supportive of each other learning and growing.
